For Friedrich Richard Rudolf Schlechter (1872-1925),** German botanist, traveler and plant collector in Africa, assistant to Harry Bolus, came to the Cape in the 1890's; and/or his brother Max Schlechter (1874-1960).** Of the two brothers, Friedrich was unquestionably the senior from a collecting sense.
